Turkish Mini Market opened its doors to visitors on June 21, 2010.
The idea of opening a store came to us unexpectedly. We wanted to create a sense of home for those who left their homeland and now Malta is their home, and also offer a wider variety of food to the locals. Our basic idea was that those arriving here, on this small sunny island in the Mediterranean feel like at home, feel attached and welcome, understand that someone cares about their needs and wishes.
We ourselves are foreigners out here, therefore, we understand and know what are the feelings of being far from our homeland, that is why we understand how pleasant it is to bring a dish to the table and to understand that these products have been so far-reaching, that it took lots of passion, time to have arrived and make our loved ones happy being far away from home.
From the beginning the store offered products from Turkey only, but over time the range of goods was increased, and at the moment in the store you can buy food and household goods from: TURKEY, BULGARIA, ROMANIA, SERBIA, MACEDONIA, CROATIA, BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA, ALBANIA, LATVIA, LITHUANIA, ESTONIA, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, SWEDEN, POLAND, ALGERIA, EGYPT, IRAN, PALESTINE, SYRIA, TUNISIA, LIBYA, SOMALIA, GEORGIA, GREECE, etc.
The range of the store is regularly updated with new products, thus complementing the accession of new countries to existing ones. Our store is not an ordinary store, we call it as a “small museum”, which brings together many food cultures and traditions of different countries in one place. In our store shelves can be found many different foods, each with its own story, its own special preparation recipe, its own special secret, which should be revealed and recognized to be able to enjoy it properly.
That’s what makes us special and different.
We have tried ourselves to find out the secret of making and preparing products in a right way and we also gladly share it with our customers, so that they know how and where to use the products that stand on our shelves! Because we believe that love comes through the stomach.
